by Knitbrary is authenticity and simplicity.

A series of multifunctional, utilitarian and genderless pieces with an individual character.

The alpacas have the most color diverse fiber on the planet. These amazing animals grow in a wide variety of more than twenty beautiful natural shades ranging from delicate ivory and grey to soft fawn, brown and black hues.

Since our first trip to Peru in 2011 we have been in love with this generous range of natural colors of the alpacas and we have always wanted to develop a collection using them

On the other hand, we also had in mind to develop a permanent edition of basic and genderless pieces.

Last year we decided to merge these two ideas, essential styles in natural colors, and we launched by Knitbrary. A new line of undyed genderless pieces. Intentionally simple designs artisanally built in our workshop in Arequipa (Peru) using, as we always do, 100% natural yarns.

In the Fall/Winter of 2020 we presented the wool Series, a first series of 100% Peruvian Highland Wool pieces knitted in two natural colors.

This year we are delighted to introduce you the baby alpaca Series, a capsule collection of 100% Baby Alpaca pieces knitted in three natural colors.

Baby Alpaca, formerly the most cherished fiber and reserved exclusively for Inca royalty, comes from the first sheer of a young alpaca.

For this first edition of the baby alpaca Series we have meticulously selected natural beige, grey and camel yarns to create simple and multifuntional desings. All of them conceived genderless to adapt to different types of silhouettes.

All these sweaters, cardigans and beanies have been knitted by Mrs. Hirma and Mr. Francisco in our Arequipa (Peru) workshop sharing our love for crafts, tradition and beauty. Hirma and Francisco have captured their know-how and delicacy in pieces that combine austere designs with the softness of baby alpaca fiber.

If you don't find a piece in your favourite color or if your size is not available, please note that we can knit it especially for you. Please contact us and we will be delighted to help you in the best possible way.

We met Gonzalo Fonseca, STEVE MONO founder, in December 2012 when Helena Rohner invited us to present our first collection in her workshop-boutique in Madrid and from the first moment we fell in love with him and his creations. It was the beginning of a friendship that has not stopped growing over time between Florentine spritz and the deep admiration we fell for his work.

STEVE MONO pieces belong to the category of objets with a beauty that cannot be perceived only through the senses. It also resides in their history, in the hands of their creator and in the patina of memories they treasure.
